Where Colour, Character, and Creativity Meet

This styled shoot was born from a desire to do something a little different, something more playful, relaxed, and full of personality.

The vision was intentionally colourful, fun, and expressive. Set at Wintergreen Studios, the space provided the perfect backdrop for a design that didn’t take itself too seriously. Rather than aiming for a perfectly styled, Pinterest-worthy look, the goal was to show couples that embracing colour can feel effortless and beautiful without needing to be overly curated.

After designing countless weddings built around familiar palettes - white and green, white and black, white and blue, white and pink - I felt inspired to explore something more expressive. Those designs are timeless for a reason, and they’ll always have their place. But weddings don’t need to be perfectly neutral to feel elevated or meaningful.

Wintergreen Studios allowed us to lean into that freedom. The clean, light-filled space gave colour room to shine, letting playful tones and layered details take centre stage without feeling overwhelming. It was the ideal setting to show how bold choices can still feel intentional and balanced.

This shoot was about encouraging couples to lean into personality and character. To choose colours that make them feel something. To let their wedding reflect who they are, rather than chasing a trend or worrying about whether their photos will feel dated years from now.

The overall look was joyful and layered, with bold colour choices working together in a way that felt intentional yet relaxed. Nothing was meant to feel overly styled or precious, just thoughtful, expressive, and fun.

This project was also a celebration of collaboration. The team behind the shoot was made up of incredibly talented vendors from the Kingston area, each bringing their own creativity and perspective to the day. Lauren and Faith, our couple, generously volunteered to be part of the shoot, and their energy brought the entire vision to life.

At the heart of it, this styled shoot was a reminder that weddings don’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. They just have to feel like you.
